Mr. Gwynn A. Albritton, 72, of Cobb, passed away at his residence on Friday, December 31, after several months of declining health. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, in Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Hugh DeLoach officiating. Those who are requested to serve as honorary pallbearers include Don, Casey, and Chad Bohn, Clay and Byron Allmon, Russell and Alan Allmon, Greg, Taylor, and Andrea Austin, Steve and Stephen Austin, Rick and Logan Hanley, Walter, Johnny, and Dale Albritton, Frank and Fred Freeman, Bill Carpenter, Donald Smith, Edgar Tidd, and Sammy Adams. Born December 14, 1938, in Sumter County, he was a son of Mrs. Grace Allmon Albritton who survives and the late J. W. Albritton. He had worked as a stock broker with Southern Acceptance Corporation, as a sales manager for car dealerships in Albany and Ft. Walton Beach, FL, and as a self-employed carpenter. The family will receive friends at Hancock Funeral Home from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 3. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jeff Albritton of Cobb and Jim and Tracy Albritton of Corpus Christy, TX; four grandchildren, Kourtney Albritton, “Bo” Albritton & his wife Erica, and Chase Albritton, all of Marietta, and Chance Albritton of Macon; one great grandson, Konner Albritton of Marietta; his former wife, Gloria Albritton of Marietta; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
