Mr. Clarence “Buster” Larkin, Jr., age 84, of Smithville, passed away on Friday afternoon, January 21, 2011. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 24, at the Smithville United Methodist Church with interment in the Smithville Cemetery. Rev. Jan Conner will officiate. The family will receive friends at the Men’s Club following the interment service. Born August 12, 1926, in Kissimmee, Florida, he was a son of the late Clarence Larkin, Sr. and the late Golda Maxine Waddell Perryman. Mr. Larkin worked in construction as a pipe fitter for Robert Shaw Controls. He was an active member of the Smithville United Methodist Church where he served on several committees. In lieu of flowers, family members request that memorial contributions be made to the Smithville United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 515, Smithville, GA 31787. Survivors include his wife, Janell Ranew Larkin; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Richard O’Hern of Americus; a granddaughter, Ivy O’Hern of Americus; a sister, Rayna Nelson of Fort Walton, FL; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Buddy and Brenda Perryman of Ocklawaha, FL and Gil and Betty Junk of Osteen, FL; and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Donald Junk, preceded him in death. Hancock Funeral Home, 427 South Lee Street, Americus, GA, is in charge of arrangements.
