Helen J. Roberts, 92, of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and Sumter County, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2011, in Boca Raton, Florida. Helen was the beloved daughter of the late Walter Anthony Jones and the late Nancy Ella Williams Jones of Sumter County, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank Roberts (passed away September 12, 2009, and will be buried with his beloved Helen), one beloved daughter, Lana Kay Spencer, sister Annis J. Wiggins and brother Leon Jones. She is survived by two loving daughters and sons-in-law, Sonja and Clyde Woods of Homestead, Florida, and Shirley and Huey LaBorde of Boca Raton, Florida. Helen was a loving Meme to her twelve devoted grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was a beautiful woman and never went anywhere that people didn't compliment her on her beautiful skin and her deep blue eyes. She lit up the world around her with her beautiful smile. She loved traveling with her husband Frank, seeing new places and so enjoyed being with her dear friends. Every September they would leave for their home in Georgia to visit with family there, and then on to other places -- different states, Europe, Israel and Alaska. Up until her very last days, Helen still enjoyed getting out every day, going to the Galleria on Sunrise Boulevard or just riding along looking at her beautiful beach. She loved her Church, the members which she considered family, parties and family get-togethers. Helen was a Christian of the Baptist faith and loved to hear good preaching and singing, but most of all she loved her three girls and wanted to be with them as much as possible. A visitation will be Friday evening between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. at Hancock Funeral Home, 427 South Lee Street in Americus, Georgia, with funeral services planned for Saturday, April 16, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. in Hebron Baptist Church, Americus, Georgia.
