Mr. Paul Edward "Eddie" George, 70, passed away Saturday afternoon, April 23, 2011, at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Lee Street United Methodist Church at 12:30 PM. Rev. Matt Stewart & Rev. Steve Frazier will officiate. Interment will follow in Andersonville National Cemetery. A visitation will be held Monday night, April 25, 2011, from 6:00 until 7:00 PM, & at other times at 311 Judy Lane, Americus. Mr. George was born November 3, 1940 in Barberton, Ohio, son of the late Paul E. & Ruth J. George. He graduated from Edenton High School, received a B.S. in Office Administration from Georgia Southwestern College, & an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from Albany Junior College. He served in the United States Marines from 1958 to 1961. Mr. George worked as Manager of Goodwill Industries in Americus in the 1970s, worked as an insurance agent for several years, worked as a night watchman at several locations, & did custodial work at several places. He was a member of Lee Street United Methodist Church since 1965. He loved his family, his church, the Atlanta Braves and his many friends at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center where he had been a resident for 15 years. Survivors include a sister & brother-in-law, Connie & John Linneman of Americus; 2 brothers, John I. George & Howard A. George, both of Tallahassee, FL; 4 nieces, 2 nephews, 4 great-nieces & 7 great-nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to Lee Street United Methodist Church, 1102 S.
