Mary Leewynn Finklea

Ms. Mary Leewynn "Wynn" Finklea, 60, of Americus, passed away Monday, April 25, 2011 at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2011, at 2:00 PM at the graveside at Oak Grove Cemetery. Rev. Brooks Partain will officiate. A visitation will be held the hour before the funeral at Hancock Funeral Home, 427 South Lee Street, Americus, GA. Born December 15, 1950 in Mobile, Alabama, Ms. Finklea was a daughter of the late Coach John James "Jack" Finklea and Mattie Leewynn Jackson Finklea. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Americus, and worked as a cyto-technologist in the pathology department of Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. Survivors include a sister & brother-in-law, Marion Elizabeth "Betty" Finklea Florey & Henry Edward "Ed" Florey of Tuscaloosa, AL; a brother & sister-in-law, Dr. John Finklea & Sharon Cunningham Finklea of Montgomery, AL; and several beloved nieces & nephews. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Americus Sumter County Parks & Recreation Authority, 173 Dan Reeves Road, Americus, GA 31709; or to Phoebe Sumter Medical Center, 1048 E.
