Reathalyn Byrd Wisham

Mrs. Reatha Wisham passed away early Wednesday morning, June 8, 2011, at Perfect Care. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 11, 2011, at First Presbyterian Church in Americus. Rev. Gary Cullison will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held at 9:00 AM Saturday morning in the church directly preceding the services. Born October 10, 1934 in Taylor County, she was the daughter of the late Henry Lewis Byrd and Annie Mae Hortman Byrd. Mrs. Wisham was a member of First Presbyterian Church and worked for 33 years as a nurse for Dr. Schley Gatewood, Sr. & Dr. Schley Gatewood, Jr. Survivors include two sons & daughters-in-law, Herschel & Susan Wisham of Plains and Daryl & Laurie Wisham of Dawson; three grandsons, Jason, Josh, & Ben Wisham; a brother-in-law, Solon Wisham & his wife Becky; and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death on December 14, 2010 by her husband, Millard Wisham. Hancock Funeral Home, 427 South Lee Street, is in charge of arrangements.
