Christine Harbuck Addy

Christine Harbuck Addy, 92, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home. A private funeral service was held Friday, June 10, 2011, at Andersonville National Cemetery with the Rev. Matt Stewart, pastor of Lee Street United Methodist Church, officiating. Born in Marion County, Georgia, she was the daughter of Clinton Leonard Harbuck and Mattie Leon Cook Harbuck. She was a graduate of Buena Vista High School. Mrs. Addy was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Zimri Markette Addy, in 2002. Mrs. Addy, her husband and their two daughters resided in Preston, Georgia, before moving to Americus. She worked for Manhattan Shirt Company but spent most of her life as a homemaker. She was a member of Lee Street United Methodist Church for over 50 years. Mrs. Addy had resided at Sumter Retirement Village in Plains, Georgia, for the last seven years and had previously resided at Perfect Care in Americus, Georgia, for four years. She is survived by two daughters, Kathryn Addy of Ellaville and Beth Addy of Americus and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Felton, Harvey, Leonard and Ernest Harbuck, and one sister, Evelyn Harbuck Davis. Hancock Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
