Judy Barnes Reno

Mrs. Judy Barnes Reno, 67, of Americus, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2011 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 14, 2011 at 3:00 PM from the grave side at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Rev. Damon Fountain will officiate. The family will receive visitors Saturday evening between the hours of 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM at Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St., Americus. Born August 17, 1943 in Montezuma, GA, she was a daughter of the late Leroy Monroe Barnes and Frances Louise Short Barnes. Mrs. Reno was of the Baptist faith and was a Registered Nurse and had been employed by Life Care as Director of Nurses at nursing homes in Montezuma, Butler and Dawson. She was a 1961 graduate of Americus High School and a 1964 graduate of Georgia Southwestern College. She was preceded in death in 1999 by her husband, E.E. "Gene" Reno. Survivors include her son Tommy Reno & his wife Karrie of Americus; grandson, Chase Reno of Americus; sister Linda Barnes Gandy & her husband Emerson of Pelham; brother-in-law Wayne Reno & his wife Amy of Albany; and nephew Todd Nix & his wife Victoria of Thomasville.
