Mrs. Lottie Chambless Worthy passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at her daughter's home in Warner Robins. Born October 10, 1919 in Berrien County, GA near Alapaha, she was the daughter of the late Wiley Jacob Chambless and Beulah Nobles Chambless. Mrs. Worthy was a member of First Baptist Church of Americus, was retired from Gertrude Davenport, and was a member of the Sunshine Club. She loved crossword puzzles and Scrabble. She was preceded in death by her husband Cecil Anderson Worthy; infant son Cecil Worthy, Jr.; son Rodney Glen Worthy; granddaughter Robin Arroyo; sister Melba Harper; and 2 brothers Winfred Chambless & Newell Chambless. Survivors include two daughters Celia Walton & Mark of Warner Robins, GA and Sylvia Coulter of Bonaire, GA; granddaughter Jessica Hendrix of Hampton, GA; 2 grandsons Rod Walton & Jenny of Kennesaw, GA and David Coulter & Amy of Bonaire, GA; 2 great-granddaughters Airalyn Hendrix and Evie Coulter; 4 great-grandsons Skyler & Avery Walton; Jordan Hambrick and Brayden Coulter; sister-in-law Annie Pearl Tripp; and several nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 26, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home, 427 South Lee Street, Americus. Rev. Keith Parks, Rev. Rusty Mauldin, Rev. Andy Cook, & Rev. Scott Kerlin will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. A visitation will be held directly preceding the funeral, beginning at 10:00 AM Friday at Hancock Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors at 704 Sunset Drive, Americus.
