Joan Howard Brown

Mrs. Joan Howard Brown, 64, passed away early Sunday morning, December 18, 2011, at Lillian G. Carter Health & Rehabilitation Center in Plains. Born March 15, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Marion Howard and Bernice Lorne Gibson. Mrs. Brown was a para-professional in the Americus City Schools and was a member of Morningside Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Wayne Brown of Americus; daughters Melissa Brown Kennedy & her husband Jeff of Leesburg and Laura Marie Brown of North Augusta, SC; sister Barbara Howard Korey & her husband Tony of Cordele; sister-in-law Diane Brown Parker & her husband Billy Joe of Cordele; grandchildren Trenton Grey Kennedy & Kaitlyn Marie Kennedy, both of Leesburg; and several nieces & nephews. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM Wednesday, December 21, 2011 in the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home, 427 South Lee Street. Rev. Mike Dorough will officiate with Rev. Matt Stewart to assist. Eric Parker will provide musical accompaniment.
