Mr. Oscar Ray Wills, age 89, passed away late Monday evening, January 16, 2012 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. Funeral services are planned for Friday, January 20, 2012 at 4:00 PM at Macedonia Baptist Church, 5716 Macedonia Church Road, Preston, GA 31824. Rev. Lee Smith, Rev. Raymond Smith, & Rev. Robert Orr will officiate. Burial will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends during visitation on Thursday, January 19, 2012 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St., Americus. Born April 30, 1922 in Webster County, he was the son of the late Oscar Ray Wills, Sr. and Gussie Blanche West Wills. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the the Army Air Corps, and was a member of Preston United Methodist Church. He was a past member of the American Legion and was a farmer. He was previously a Farmer of the Year. Mr. Wills served as the Webster County Tax Commissioner for two terms. Survivors include his wife, Earline Matthews Wills of Preston; daughters Beverly Smith of Carrollton, GA, Phyllis King & her husband Phil of Albany, Marilyn Kaye Wills of Preston, and Betty Eschmann of Preston; brother Dennis Wills of Preston; 7 grandchildren: Melanie Dale, Kevin King, Ted Eschmann, Anna Gosa, Cameron Smith, Ray Eschmann, & Jeffery Eschmann; and 6 great-grandchildren.
