Mrs. Zelma Tucker Vissage of Brunswick, GA, died due to declining health early Tuesday morning, May 1, 2012, at her son's home in Brunswick, GA. Mrs. Vissage was born in LaGrange, GA to Claude and Ophelia Twilley Tucker, and grew up in Macon, GA where she attended Lanier High School and Mercer University. She moved to Americus in 1951 where she lived until she relocated to Brunswick. Her husband, Houston Vissage, Sr. preceded her in death in 1971. Mrs. Vissage was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Americus where she was a W.S.C.S. Circle Leader and Financial Secretary for many years. She later attended Wesley United Methodist Church at Frederica, St. Simons Island, GA. Survivors include a son, Houston Vissage, Jr., a daughter, Gayle Vissage Egan, a son-in-law, Jeff Egan, and a granddaughter, Zelma Elisabeth Egan, all of Brunswick. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Hancock Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 4, at the First United Methodist Church of Americus. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
