Larry Alton Perry, 67, of 1137 US Highway 280, East, Americus, GA, died unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, May 5, 2012. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 7, at Lee Street United Methodist Church with interment to follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The Reverend Matthew Stewart & The Reverend Larry Roberts will officiate. Mr. Perry, a native of Sumter County, was born February 15, 1945, a son of the late Greene Alton Perry, Jr. and Elsie Graham Perry. He graduated from Americus High School in 1964 and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1964 until 1968. He was a member of Lee Street United Methodist Church and the Sons of Confederate Veterans. He was a salesman at Farmers' Seed and Feed Company in Americus. Family members suggest that memorial contributions be made to Lee Street United Methodist Church, 1102 South Lee Street, Americus, GA 31709, or to Friends of the Library, Lake Blackshear Regional Library, 307 East Lamar Street, Americus, GA 31709. Friends may call at the home of his sister and her husband, Mary Claire and Dr. William Reeves, 161 South Forty Drive, Americus, GA. Survivors include his sister, Mary Claire Perry Reeves and his brother-in-law, Dr. William Reeves, of Americus. Hancock Funeral Home, 427 South Lee Street, is in charge of arrangements.
