Ercelle Williams Blackmon

Mrs. Ercelle W. Blackmon, 99, passed away Tuesday morning, May 22, 2012, at McGraw Center for Caring in Jacksonville, FL. Funeral services are planned for Saturday, May 26, 2012, at 11:00 AM from the graveside at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Rev. Bill Dupree will officiate. A visitation will be held directly preceding the funeral at the cemetery, beginning at 10:30 AM. Born August 7, 1912, in Atlanta, she was the daughter of the late Harris Wyatt Williams and Alma Ethel Hartley Williams. Mrs. Blackmon was a home maker and a member of First United Methodist Church in Americus and the Upper Room Sunday School class at the church. She was a charter member of the Azalea Garden Club. Survivors include her children: Helen Cole of Jacksonville, FL; and Jimmy & Judy Blackmon of Stone Mountain, GA; grandchildren: Bo & Donna Blackmon of Lawrenceville, GA; Bill Blackmon of Lilburn, GA; Bob & Connie Blackmon of Newborn, GA; Daryl Cole of Tallahassee, FL; and Brian & Mary Cole of Jacksonville, FL; 8 great-grandchildren, and 2 nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to First United Methodist Church, 200 S. Lee St., Americus, GA 31709.
