Officer Richard Angelo Cobb, 37, of W Glessner St. in Americus, passed away Thursday morning, June 14, 2012, while on patrol with the Oglethorpe Police Dept. Funeral services are planned for Monday, June 18, 2012, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St. A private interment will follow in Arlington Park Cemetery in Jacksonville, FL. The family will receive friends on Monday between the hours of 12 noon & 2:00 PM at Hancock Funeral Home. A native of Jacksonville, FL, he was born July 10, 1974, a son of Donnie Clyde Cobb and Frances Angela Andrea Cobb. Officer Cobb was of the Methodist faith and was employed by the Oglethorpe Police Department. He was post certified in both Georgia and Florida. Family members include his wife, Leslie Hope Cobb of Americus; son Dustin Scott Abel & his fiancèe Katelyn Morgan of Douglas, GA; daughter Courtney Lauren Cobb of Palm Coast, FL; brother Jason Cobb & his wife April of Jacksonville; and nephew Lucius Cobb.
