Ruby Josephine Richardson

October 15, 1938 — July 11, 2012

Mrs. Ruby Josephine Richardson, age 73, died at her residence on Tulip Drive near Americus on Wednesday, July 11, 2012. Visitation will be conducted from 12:00 noon until 1:30 p.m. on Monday, July 16, at Hancock Funeral Home. Memorial services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the cemetery at Andersonville National Historic Site. Friends are invited at other times to visit the family residence, 658-A Hwy 19 N, Americus. Born October 15, 1938, in Newnan, she was a daughter of the late Henry Aaron Carlisle and Gladys Mitchel Carlisle. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She was an excellent seamstress, and loved flowers and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Herbert Richardson; sons David Richardson and his wife Donna of Leslie and Michael Richardson of Atlanta; daughters Mary J. Wacaser and Pamela J. Nutt and her husband Danny, all of Americus; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Mary Frances Carlisle of Newnan; sisters and brothers-in-law, Martha and Jerry Skinner of Panama City, FL, and Delores and Berry Melly of Barnesville; grandchildren Brittany Felker, Shawna Richardson, Tabitha Gipson, Amanda Nutt, Tiffany Nutt, James Richardson, Katie Richardson, Destiny Overstreet, and Zackary Wacaser; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Henry Richardson, and a sister, Patricia Worley.
