Mrs. Lillian Davenport, 79, passed away Tuesday afternoon, October 2, 2012, at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 4, 2012, at 11:00 AM from the graveside at Oak Grove Cemetery. Dr. Bryan Myers will officiate. Born June 14, 1933 in Americus, she was the daughter of the late Johnie Rainey Faglie and Lillian Bush Faglie. She was the owner of the Americus Credit Bureau for many years and served as the State Secretary of the Georgia Association of Credit Bureaus for many years. Mrs. Davenport was a member of Central Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Claire Davenport Bedingfield of Columbus; her son, George Milton Davenport, III of Raeford, NC; 2 granddaughters, Laura Leigh Bedingfield Wiley & husband Torrey of Columbus, and Ashley Bedingfield Burns & husband Brent of Shiloh, GA; one nephew, Johnnie Rainey Faglie; and special friends Barbara & Earl Gammage of Americus. Mrs. Davenport was preceded in death in 2003 by her son-in-law Robert Forest Bedingfield, and in 1973 by her brother Johnnie Rainey Faglie.
