Lois Mcglamry

Mrs. Lois G. McGlamry passed away Sunday evening, December 2, 2012, at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. Funeral services are planned for 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 5, 2012, from the graveside at Oak Grove Cemetery. Rev. Matt Stewart will officiate. A visitation will be held directly preceding the funeral service, from 12:00 noon until 1:45 PM, at Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St. Born May 6, 1924 in the New Era Community in Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late Leroy Hobson Grant and Beulah Lula Autry Grant. Mrs. McGlamry was a homemaker and a charter member of Morningside United Methodist Church. She was an Emeritus member of Chapter 63 of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a graduate of the Americus school system. Survivors include a son, John L. Shumake of Conyers; a granddaughter, Lorie Lee Shumake Donaldson (Michael) of Newborn, GA; a "second son", Ken O. Duvall (Alice) of Golden, CO; and many cousins. Mrs. McGlamry was preceded in death by her husband, Oran Dixon McGlamry, by her sister, Eva Grant Bridges; and by a dear and special friend, Mrs. Clyde W. Bowen.
