Dennie Michelle Merritt

Dennie Michelle Merritt, 43, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2012, in Atlanta, GA. She is survived by her parents, Faye Parker Merritt and William "Bill" Merritt; her sister, Miranda Ogier; and nephews Ryan and Joshua McDill and Luke Ogier. She was an intelligent young woman who lived and fought heroically against an illness, schizophrenia. She loved her family and loved the church. She loved gardens, especially Callaway throuh the seasons and the Camellia Garden near Marshallville. She loved a cat named Sam Henry. Her laughter lit up a room. As the Apostle Paul advises in Phillipians 4:8, she thought about "Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just..." and wanted to live her life in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. A remembrance service for Michelle will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Perry Wellness Center, 302 E. Furlow St., Americus, GA 31709; or to Lee Street United Methodist Church, 1102 S. Lee St., Americus, GA 31709.
