Mrs. Marjorie Suggs Sims passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2013, at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home in Americus. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel at Magnolia Manor. Rev. Joy Wilson will officiate. Interment will be held following the funeral service, at 3:00 PM at the Pleasant Plains Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Jeffersonville, GA A visitation will be held preceding the funeral at the Chapel at Magnolia Manor, starting at 10:00 AM. Born July 22, 1923 in Cliffside, NC to the late Walter and Eula Mae Christy Suggs, Mrs. Sims was a home maker, attended Sunnyside Baptist Church in Albany, and was a member of the Air Force Sergeants Association Auxiliary. Survivors include her two sons: Ronald Sims & wife Marie of San Antonio, TX, and James Sims of Atlanta, GA; three sisters: Ann Yarbrough of Waxhaw, NC, Elizabeth Tanner of Milledgeville, GA, and Eloise James of Forest City, NC; three grandchildren: Miles Sims of Austin, TX, Meghan Ruffo of Charlotte, NC, and Nicholas Sims of San Antonio, TX; six great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Sims was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Sims, in March of 1999. Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Sims’s name to the League of the Good Samaritan, c/o Magnolia Manor, 2001 S.
