John Michael Roberts

Mr. John Michael "Mike" Roberts, 61, passed away Sunday afternoon, January 6, 2013, at his residence in Americus. Funeral services are planned for 2:00 PM Friday, January 11, 2013, from the graveside at Tazewell Cemetery in Marion County. The family will receive friends for a short time preceding and following the service at the graveside. Born July 14, 1951 in Geneva, Georgia, he was a son of the late John Gordon Roberts and Doris Bell Roberts. He was of the Christian faith. Mr. Roberts studied Computer Science at South Georgia Technical College, where he earned his Associates Degree. He was employed at Davidson Rubber Co. in Americus for 23 years. Survivors include his wife, Mary Jewell Brannen, of Americus; two brothers, Jerry Gordon Roberts of Andersonville and Kenneth Roberts (Martha) of Monroe, GA; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death in 1975 by his infant son, John Michael Roberts, Jr. and in 2004 by his sister, Marjorie Wills.
