Charles Russell Weeks

Charles Russell Weeks, Jr., born September 17, 1926 in Americus, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the age of 86, on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 in Fort Walton Beach, FL. He was the loving husband of Betty E. Weeks, celebrating 61 years of marriage this past October. He was a devoted father to his 3 daughers, Nancy Codi(Sam), Cindy McGuire (Jim), and Patti Cole, and a proud grandfather to Jimmie McGuire (Janelle), Bryan Codi, Crissy Codi Webb (Brian), and Dillon Cole. He is also survived by his sister Alice Clanton, and his brother Wallace Weeks *(Gloria). Charlie had a kind soul and a wonderful sense of humor. He led a full life, traveling the world with his family, living in Greece, Germany, Japan, Hawaii, and many states. He was the "family tour guide" and loved his family more than anything. While in the service, Charlie graduated from the University of Omaha, then retired with the rank of Colonel from the United States Army after serving 33 years. Charlie served during WWII, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and as Garrison Commmander in Japan. After his military retirement, he worked for 15 years as a financial consultant with Merrill Lynch in Ft. Myers, FL. He was preceded in death by his father Charles Russell Weeks, Sr., his mother Elise Chappell Weeks, his brother Jimmie Weeks, and his sister Wilma Weeks Jones. Funeral services with full military honors will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, March 16, from the graveside at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
