Mr. Billy L. King passed away early Sunday morning, April 7, 2013, at his home in Americus. A Masonic service will be held at 6:00 PM Tuesday evening, April 9, in the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St., directly followed by visitation until 8:00 PM at Hancock Funeral Home. Funeral services are planned for Wednesday, April 10, at 2:00 PM at the Church of the Nazarene in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. Johnny Roberts officiating. Burial with Masonic committal rites will follow in Friendship Memorial Gardens in Donalsonville (Seminole County). The family will receive friends for two hours preceding the services in the church, beginning at 12:00 noon. Born February 15, 1938 in Donalsonville, Mr. King was a son of the late Vester Lee King and Ella Elizabeth Philmon King. He was of the Christian faith and worked for many years as the cafeteria manager for the Georgia Co-Op for the Blind at Manhattan Shirt Company in Americus. He was a Mason, Past Master of M.B. Council Lodge #13 of Americus, and a Shriner, member of the Sumter Shrine Club and Al Sihah Shrine Temple. He was formerly very active in the clown unit of the Sumter Shrine Club. Survivors include his wife, Myrle Williams King of Americus; son, Anthony E. "Andy" King (Laura Leigh) of Leslie; daughter, Ramona King Hale (Eddie Broadnax) of Lake Blackshear; brother, Larry King (Relda) of Donalsonville; sister Wanda Mann of Donalsonville; sister-in-law & brothers-in-law, Margaret Hicks (Lamar) of Donalsonville, and Dr. Robert Hoff of Marianna, FL; grandchildren: Brandon Cody Hale (Nikki), Michael Sean Hale (Heather), Dustin Seth Stafford, Thomas Dillon Hale, Kristen Grace King Greene (Matthew), Victoria Kathleen King Goodman (Travis), Kaleigh Shyenne King, and Kesleigh Skye King; 5 great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Hazel Hoff. For those wishing to do so, the family suggests memorial contributions to Shriners Hospitals for Children, c/o Al Sihah Shrine, P.O.
