Mrs. J. C. (Caroline) Webb, 103, passed away Wednesday evening, May 15, 2013, at her residence in Plains. Graveside services are planned for 3:00 PM Sunday, May 19, 2013, at Liberty Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Lee Smith and John Madison Culler will officiate, with Kim Fuller and Liz Totty taking part and Jeff Kluball providing musical accompaniment on saxophone. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 18, 2013 between the hours of 6:00 & 8:00 PM at Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St. Born March 3, 1910 in Thomasville, she was a daughter of the late Rev. James E. Channell and Eva Rainey Channell. Mrs. Webb was a retired educator, having taught French, English and Spanish in various Georgia high schools for 37 years. She was the wife of the late J. C. Webb, II who preceded her in death on the same date exactly 25 years ago. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law Warner and Debra Webb; daughter-in-law Linda Webb; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son J. C. Webb, III and by a step-granddaughter Lisa Reedy. It was Mrs. Webb's wish, and the request of her family, that flowers be omitted from her services.
