Mr. Kerman C. Goodin, age 67, passed away Tuesday morning, August 13, at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. A memorial service is planned for 4:00 PM on Thursday, August 15, at Calvary Episcopal Church with a private interment to follow in Calvary Memorial Gardens. Father Rick Buechner will officate. Visitation, in the church parish hall, will immediately follow the services. Friends may call at other times at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Ashley Goodin, 1090 U.S. Highway 19, South. A native of Americus, Mr. Goodin was born June 23, 1946, a son of the late Chester K. Goodin and Louise Veal Goodin, who survives him. He was a 1964 graduate of Plains High School, and was retired, after 42 years, from the CSX Railroad. Mr. Goodin was a member of Williams Road Church of Christ and served in the National Guard. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Marilyn Goodin of Americus; sons Doug Goodin (Heidi) of Americus, Chris Goodin (Karen) of Arizona, and Ashley Goodin (Meg) of Americus; daughter Miriam Crosby (Mark) of Albany; 2 brothers, Joe Goodin (Donna) of Smithville and Allen Goodin (Candy) of Ellaville; two sisters, Shirley Dew of Smithville and Barbara Harris (Jim) of Americus; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Arthur of Americus; brother-& sister-in-law, John & Cherrie Arthur of Americus; sisters-in-law Joy Goodin of Americus, Bonita Brown (Watt) of Montezuma; and Mittie Gregory of Americus; seven grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews.
