Lawrence Junior Riley

Mr. Lawrence Junior Riley, age 67, passed away Friday morning, August 16, at Lillian Carter Health & Rehabilitation Center in Plains. Services are planned for Monday, August 19, at 4:00 PM in the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St., with Rev. Jerry Merriwether officiating. A private interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Columbus. Born September 29, 1945, he was a son of the late Oscar David Riley and Ibery Laye Money Riley. Mr. Riley was a nurse and was of the Christian faith. Survivors include three sons: Oscar Riley (Ginny) of Cusseta, Lawrence Riley, Jr. (Janet Coats) of Columbus, and Tommy Joe Riley, Sr. (Genny Atwell) of Mauk; three daughters: Froney Stegemiller (Carl) of Sasser, Jean Amerson (Wayne) of Columbus, and Hazel Amerson (Steve Lott) of Columbus; sixteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
