Lorene D. Barfield

Mrs. Lorene D. Barfield passed away on Wednesday afternoon, September 4, at Bryant Health & Rehabilitation Center in Cochran. Funeral services are planned for 3:00 Friday, September 6, from the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St., with visitation immediately following. Rev. Vernon Wiggins will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Born July 21, 1929 in Laurens County, she was a daughter of the late John Dorsey and Julie Roland Dorsey. Mrs. Barfield was a member of Central Baptist Church and was a home maker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lamar Barfield, by her son Rickie Edward Barfield, the love of her life; by 2 brothers, W.C. Dorsey and H.M. "Bud" Dorsey; and by 5 sisters, Ruth D. Collier, Evelyn D. Raper, Ernestine D. Howard, Mabel D. Langston, & Margaret D. Watson. Survivors include 17 nieces and nephews.
