Doris Montine Hooper

Mrs. Doris Montine Hooper, age 90, passed away Monday evening, September 23, at her home in Leslie. Funeral services are planned for 2:00 Thursday, September 26, from the graveside at Talmadge Memorial Cemetery in Monticello, GA. Visitation will immediately follow the services at the cemetery. Born July 18, 1923 in Social Circle, GA, she was a daughter of the late William Shellnutt and Mattie Hollis Shellnutt. She was the widow of William Robert Hooper, Sr. Mrs. Hooper was an avid gardener and did outstanding embroidery work. She was a home maker and attended Leslie United Methodist Church. She is survived by her son, William R. Hooper, Jr. of Cordele; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, James Richard Hooper and a daughter, Doris Ann Pritchard.
