Graveside funeral services for Mr. David Eli Bozeman, 94, of Plains, Georgia, who died October 30, 2013, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2013, at Lebanon Cemetery in Plains. Rev. Lauri Hartley and Rev. Lee Smith will officiate. Mr. Bozeman was born March 10, 1919 in Quitman, Georgia. He was the son of the late Lewis Irwin Bozeman and Mamie Irene McPhail Bozeman. Mr. Bozeman served in the Army Air Corp as a ground crewman with the rank of sergeant during WW II and the Korean Conflict. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a BS degree in Agriculture and worked for the US Department of Agriculture as a Soil Conservationist, serving for 23 years in Effingham County. He was a dedicated member of Plains United Methodist Church. He was a gentle, sweet man who loved others and was loved by all. His memory will be forever treasured by his beloved wife of 58 years, Sara Helen Mims Bozeman; daughters Carol Lynn Griggs (Marvin) of Preston and Diane B. Worrell (Roy) of Perry; grandchildren Meagan Tate (Adam), Adam Griggs (Sarita), Jessica Hord, and Ashley Pierce (Jeff); great grandchildren Bryce, Emma, and Lincoln Tate, Lowin Eli Griggs, Austin Hord, and Tessa and Anna Pierce. Other survivors include sister-in-law Carol Anderson, brother-in-law George Mims (Helen), and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Irwin Montrose Bozeman. Memorial contributions should be directed to Plains United Methodist Church, P.O.
