Mr. James Lovette Wiggins, age 86, passed away early Saturday morning, December 21, at his home in Americus. Funeral services are planned for 2:00 PM Monday, December 23, in the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St., with Rev. William Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at Hancock Funeral Home on Sunday evening, December 22, between the hours of 6:00 & 8:00 PM, and at other times at the family residence, 1218 Ridge Street in Americus. A native of Sumter County, Mr. Wiggins was born July 16, 1927, a son of the late Alma Wade Wiggins and Lonie Williams Wiggins. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Leslie, and was a retired mechanic. Survivors include his wife, Louise Moore Wiggins of Americus; daughter, Patricia Wiggins Francis (Terry) of Americus; sisters-in-law, Rose Wiggins, Evelyn Holloway, Agnes Goolsby, and Candy Dinsmore (Doug), all of Americus, and Katie Edmondson of Georgetown; 4 grandsons, Jamison P. Tyler (Heather), Terry R. Francis, Jr., William C. Francis, and Warren B. Mims, all of Americus; 1 great-grandson, Christopher J. Tyler of Americus; and several special cousins, nieces and nephews. Mr. Wiggins was preceded in death by a daughter, Terri Wiggins Mims; and by two brothers, Franklin Wiggins and Herschel Wiggins.
