Mr. Donald Harden passed away Tuesday morning, December 31, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. Funeral services are planned for 3:00 Friday, January 3, from the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St., with Elder Walter Compton officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Hancock Funeral Home on Thursday evening, January 2, between the hours of 6:00 & 8:00 PM, and at other times on Thursday and Friday at the family residence, 100 Sylvan Road. Born June 1, 1946 in Americus, he was the son of the late James Cleve "Bill" Harden and Lavonia Quenell "Nell" Melton. Mr. Harden was a Jehovah's Witness, a veteran of the United States Navy, and a retired delivery man for Flav-O-Rich and Wells Dairies. Survivors include his wife, June Harden of Kaneohe, Hawaii; four daughters, Shirleen Holloway (Sheldon) of Americus, Tammy Wilder (Jeffrey) of Musella, Shonell Tanner (Melvin) of Leesburg, and Lisa Lankford (Ben) of Americus; ten grandchildren, Matthew and Lauren, Raigan and Bryant, Anna and Tyler, and Cheyenne, Kaleb, Kiersten and Kayden; one brother, Jimmy Harden (Linda) of Americus; and one sister-in-law, Zelma Melton of Americus.
