Mr. Joey Fountain, 47, passed away early Wednesday morning, January 15, at his home in Americus. Funeral services are planned for 2:00 PM on Friday, January 17, from the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St., with Brother Troy Fripp officiating. Interment will follow in Lebanon Cemetery in Plains. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, January 16, between the hours of 6:00 & 8:00 PM at Hancock Funeral Home, and at other times at the family residence, 1221 Tallent Store Road. Born November 23, 1966 in Milledgeville, he was a son of the late Jackson Fountain and the late Gloria Davis Penn. Mr. Fountain was of the Christian faith, and was a logger and foreman for Georgia Forest Products. He loved his grandchildren and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Survivors include his wife, Eve McKinney Fountain of Americus; two daughters, Chelsea Fountain Crowley (Adam) and Charlie Fountain, both of Americus; two grandchildren, Jackson Crowley and Hallie Grace Mossbarger, both of Americus; three brothers, Jimmy Etheridge (Jenny), Tim Etheridge, and Robbie Fountain, all of Americus; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
