Mrs. Tommie G. Johnson, 96, passed away Monday morning, January 27, at Lynn Haven Health & Rehabilitation Center in Gray. Funeral services are planned for 2:00 PM Thursday, January 30, at Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. Hugh Harbort officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday at the church, preceding the funeral services, beginning at 1:00 PM. Born December 12, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Benjamin Gilmore and Naomi Allmon Gilmore. Mrs. Johnson was a retired seamstress and folder for Manhattan Shirt Co. She was a member of the Daughters of the Confederacy, and she loved her church, Shiloh Baptist Church. She was the widow of Roy Edmond Johnson who preceded her in death in 2005. Survivors include two daughters, Betty J. Curry (Don) and Sara J. Crumley, all of Gray; four grandchildren, Burt Crumley (Dana) of West Monroe, LA, Denise C. Thompson (Darian), Dana C. Hardison (Scotty) and Daniel Roy Curry (Sarah), all of Gray; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Floyd Crumley.
