Mrs. Lucille Albritton, 801 Douglas Drive, passed away at her residence on Tuesday evening, August 26. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 29, in Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. Hugh Harbort officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will include Cecil Albritton, Jr., Robbie Albritton, Brandon Albritton, Kevin Smith, Phillip Albritton, and T.J. Blasingame. Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathon Avery, Steven Avery, Michael Fountain, Shannon McBee, Austin McBee, Blake Albritton, Cecil "Bitty" Albritton, III, Robert Albritton, Steve Hale, and Eugene Gilliam. The family will receive friends at Hancock Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 28. Memorial contributions may be made to United Hospice, 708 East 16th Avenue, Cordele, GA 31015. A native of Clanton, Alabama, Mrs. Albritton was born October 16, 1934, a daughter of the late Tuskin Nelson and Inez Dora Jewel Mims Nelson. She was the wife of the late J.W. Albritton who preceded her in death on August 31, 1978. She worked for a number of years at Manhattan Shirt Company, and for forty three years, she owned and operated Sportsman's Paradise. She was a loyal Pentacostal. Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Munoz and her partner, Steve Adams of Americus, and Renea Blasingame and her husband, Billy Blasingame of Americus; three sons and their wives, Cecil and Paula Albritton of Ellaville, Ray and Sue Albritton of Douglas, and Joseph "Scooter" and Kristy Albritton of Americus; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Shockley of Americus and Carolyn Roberts of Andersonville; a brother, Marvin Earl Nelson of Prattville, AL; 12 grandchildren, including a very special grandson, Jonathon Avery and his wife Deavie; 14 great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. A brother, Irvin Nelson, preceded her in death. Hancock Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
