Irma Wise

Mrs. Irma L. Wise, 93, of Plains, passed away on Tuesday evening, August 12, at Lillian Carter Nursing Center. Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 14, in Lebanon Cemetery with Pastor Charles Thompson and Rev. Jeff Summers officiating. The family will receive friends at the Wise family residence in Plains. Those who so desire are requested to make a memorial contribution to any favorite charity of the donor's choice. Born September 25, 1914, in Wakulla County, FL, Mrs. Wise was a daughter of the late John Hampden Linton and Melinda Elizabeth Hayman Linton. She was the wife of the late David Thomas Wise, Sr. who preceded her in death on November 1, 1986. Mrs. Wise was a member of the St. Andrews Lutheran Church and the PALS club. She was a retired postal clerk. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Beverly Buchanan and Brooks Buchanan, III of Plains; her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. David Wise, Jr. and Jane Ann Wise of Miami, FL; her grandchildren, Tim Buchanan of Mt. Airy, GA, Kelly and Jenny Buchanan of Americus, Andy and Mary Field Wise of Atlanta, and Scott Wise of Atlanta; her great grandchildren, Cody Buchanan and Cory Buchanan, both of Americus; her sister, Betty Strickland of Crawfordville, FL; and a number of nieces and nephews. Hancock Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
