Jane S. Canington

Mrs. Jane S. Canington passed away Wednesday morning, July 16, at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 19 in the Martha Moore Memorial Chapel at the Magnolia Manor Nursing Center. The Rev. Joy Wilson and the Rev. Willie Beasley will officiate. Private interment will be in Stewart County. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the League of the Good Samaritan, 2001 S. Lee St., Americus, GA 31709, or to County Line Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Richard Morrison, 1715 Lynch Road, Lumpkin, GA 31815. A daughter of the late Edward Lee Shadrick and Nora Kimberly Shadrick, she was born in Emanuel County. She was the Director of the Child Care Center at Columbus University. Mrs. Canington was a member of Lee Street United Methodist Church. She was a friend to everyone and a true Christian woman. Survivors are her children, Lisa Casilli (Paul) of Bonaire, GA, Susan Fleming of Raleigh, NC, Carla Cannington of Edwards, CA, Jean Story (L.C.) of Angel Fire, NM, and Lawrence M. Canington (Beverly) of Smiths, AL; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; one sister; one brother; and numerous nieces and nephews. Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St., is honored to be entrusted with these arrangements for Mrs. Jane S. Canington.
