Mary Minor

Mary Tuchschmidt Minor, 86, died August 31, 2008 at her home in Americus, Ga. Mrs. Minor was born December 17, 1921 in St. Louis, Missouri. She was the daughter of the late Eugene Arnold and Dena Divney Tuchschmidt. She graduated from Fontbonne College in University City, MO and went on to a career in social work as a staff member at City Hospital, St. Louis, where she met her late husband Dr. James B. Minor who preceded her in death earlier this year. Her entire life was dedicated to family. The loving mother of 6 children and 18 grandchildren, Mrs. Minor had a great love and dedication to family. She was a devoted Catholic and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Americus. She is survived by her children, Jim & Cheryl Minor, Bill Minor, John & Kimberly Minor, Richard & Peggy Minor, Beth & Kell Harper, & Joseph Minor & the late Courtney Elizabeth Minor. 18 grandchildren and many many loving friends and neighbors also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, September 3, 2008, at 2:00 PM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Americus. Visitation will be held Tuesday night, September 2, 2008, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Hancock Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 332 South Lee Street, Americus, GA 31709. Hancock Funeral Home, 427 South Lee Street, Americus, GA, is in charge of arrangements.
