Mrs. Marjorie Ann Bridges Fletcher, 82, 557 Lacross Road, Americus, passed away shortly after noon on Wednesday, August 20. Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday in the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home. Private interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Rev. Brooks Partain will officiate, and music will be provided by Mrs. Ann Partain. The family will receive friends at Hancock Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 21. Born November 24, 1925, in Americus, Mrs. Fletcher was a daughter of the late Clyde Bridges and Mary Lowrey Pierce Bridges. She was a homemaker and a member of Salem United Methodist Church. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Cheryl Fletcher and Joe and Diane Fletcher, all of Americus, and Allen and Roselyn Fletcher of Macon; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Louis and Stella Bridges of Americus and Lent and Carol Bridges of Camden, SC; grandchildren, Michael and Maggie Fletcher and Rob and Angie Fletcher all of Americus, Craig Fletcher of Valdosta, Brian and Sharlynn Fletcher of Deltaville, VA, and Charles and Cathy Fletcher of Macon; great-grandchildren, Jake and Makenzie Fletcher of Deltaville, VA; sisters-in-law, Callie Satterfield and Quenelle Wynn and her husband Allen; long-time dedicated caregivers, Ruth Robertson, Ann Foster, and Latoya Spencer Mack; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Clay Fletcher, Jr., and by siblings Dollie and Howard Jones, Jim and Shirley Bridges, Clyde (Pap) and Eva Bridges, Nellie and Rainey Wiggins, and Steve Bridges. Hancock Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
