Betty M Farr

Mrs. Betty M. Farr, 82, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, September 9, at Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 12, from the graveside at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Rev. Larry Adams and his wife Marilyn officiating. Grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends after the service at the home of Mrs. Erin Farr, 203 Sherwood Road. Born June 7, 1932 in Columbia, AL, she was a daughter of the late George Willis McLendon and Marie Anglin McLendon. Mrs. Farr was of the Christian faith, loved her family and enjoyed cooking. She was retired from the National Park Service, having worked in the Welcome Center at Andersonville National Historic Site. Survivors include her children: Greg Farr (Michelle Scarbrough) of Columbus, Pamela Farr of Cordele, Donna Bailey (Billy) of Cordele, and Lorri Ansley of Atlanta; daughter-in-law, Erin Farr of Americus; son-in-law, Brian Neisent of Warner Robins; one brother, Jerry McLendon of Mobile, AL; one sister, Marilyn Adams (Larry) of Webb, AL; grandchildren: Jonathan Neisent, Megan Neisent, Brittany Garland (Josh), Ben Ansley, Jr. (Kayla Black), Emily Farr, Abby Farr, Dustin Scarborough (Joan), George Scarborough, Lyle Farr, Jessica Farr, Natalie Walden (Chris), Kelli Hazzan, Benjamin Bailey (Paige) and Jennifer Bailey (Rina); four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Morris Farr, by a son, James Loren Farr, and by a daughter, Fonda Suzette Neisent.
