Mr. Richard "Dick" Stevens, Jr., 91, of Magnolia Manor, passed away early Wednesday morning, September 10, at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. Funeral services are planned for 11:00 AM on Friday, September 12, from the Martha McDonald Moore Memorial Chapel at Magnolia Manor. Rev. Rusty Mauldin and Rev. Keith Parks will officiate. The family will receive friends for a short time following the services at the chapel. A private interment will follow. Born May 17, 1923 in Americus, he was a son of the late Seaborn Richard Stevens, Sr. and Ada Mae Battle Stevens. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Army Air Force where he achieved the rank of Corporal. During his enlistment, he worked in radar detection technology. Mr. Stevens owned Stevens Electronics Store in Americus for many years. He enjoyed playing golf and loved his church (First Baptist Church) and singing in the church choir. He volunteered at Magnolia Manor for 20 years. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Cranford Stevens of Americus. Other surviving family members include Elizabeth Carter, James Carter, Charles Carter, Debbie Woods, and two great nieces.
