Mrs. Iris L. Moore, 78, passed away very early Thursday morning, September 25, at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 27, in the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Kinservik officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Hancock Funeral Home from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 26. At other times, friends may call at 120 Moore Road. Born Feb. 18, 1930, in Macon County, Mrs. Moore was the daughter of the late Samuel Sidney Lee and Nancy McLendon Lee. She was a member of County Line Methodist Church and worked for 49 years as a member of the sales staff at Americus Hardware Company. Survivors include her husband, John P. Moore of Americus; a brother, Sammy Lee of Schley County; sisters-in-law, Pat Hines of Leslie and Grace Harden of Stone Mountain; nieces and nephews, Terri Lee of Americus, Tara and Jeff Rix of Andersonville, Ann Scholl, J. Stephen and Martha Parker, all of Birmingham, AL, Lucy and Johnny Crittendon of Locust Grove, William "Bill" and Shirley Parker of McDonough, J. David and Lynn Parker of Tucker, and James Harden of Lilburn. Hancock Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
