Audrey Smith

Mrs. Audrey Belle Law Smith, 88, passed away very early Saturday morning, September 27, 2008, at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center. Graveside services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, September 29, in Rehoboth Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Dan Ariail officiating. Born June 8, 1920, in Macon County, Mrs. Smith was a daughter of the late Horace Hampton Law and Lillie Belle Clark Law. She was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church and a sales lady in the fabric department of the former S. H. Kress and TG&Y Department Stores. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Americus and Sumter County, P.O. Box 1434, Americus, Georgia 31709. The family will receive friends at Hancock Funeral Home from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 28. At other times friends may call at the residence of Charlie and Faye Smith, 477 U.S. Highway 280, West. Survivors include three sons and a daughter-in-law, Dennis E. Smith, Charlie D. and Faye Smith, and Donnie Smith, all of Americus; a sister, Elizabeth Smith of Americus; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Lillian Law of Albany; grandchildren, Rhonda and Mark Shutters of Ellaville, Vanessa and Tracy Crawley, Johnny Smith, Laura Smith, and Marie Smith, all of Americus, Christopher Smith of Red Banks, TN, and Sara Smith of Cross Lanes, WV; nine great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews, including Shirley and Grady Bell of Americus, David and Beth Smith of Swainsboro, Chris and Joan Law of Sylvester, and Pat and Bill Taylor of Albany. Her beloved husband, Dennis S. Smith, preceded her in death. Hancock Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
