Mrs. Estelle Wood Webb, age 89, of Sandersville, formerly of Americus, died Monday October 13 in the Extended Care Facility in Sandersville. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday October 17 in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Americus. Mrs. Webb, known also as "Dobey," was born in Russell County, Alabama, the daughter of the late Frank William Wood and the late Julia Estelle Barfield Wood. She was the wife of the late James Thomas Webb, Jr. Mrs. Webb lived in Americus most of her life. She was a retired machine operator for Manhattan Shirt Company the the Tog Shop in Americus. Mrs. Webb was a retired nursing assistant at Magnolia Manor in Americus. She was a member of the Lee Street United Methodist Church. Survivors are a nephew, E.K. May of Tennille, a great niece and nephew, Daniel G. May of Tennille and Kathryn Leigh M. McAteer of Macon, a great great niece and nephew, Kate McAteer and Hunt McAteer of Macon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Extended Care Facility Activities Fund or the Lee Street Methodist Church Building Fund. May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville and Hancock Funeral Home in Americus are in charge of the arrangements.
