Mrs. Susie Bell Halstead Buchanan, 95, passed away on Friday morning, November 28, at Perfect Care. Funeral services were held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 29, from the grave side at Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. Sammy Curry officiated. Born November 19, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Willie Talmadge Halstead and Rosa Lee Kite Halstead. A member of the Methodist faith, Mrs. Buchanan was retired from Manhattan Shirt Factory. She was preceded in death in 2006 by her husband, Brooks Edward Buchanan, Jr. Survivors include a daughter, Jean Howell (Russell) of Americus; three sons: Brooks E. Buchanan, III (Beverly) of Plains, John E. Buchanan (Kay) of Americus, and Logan Buchanan of Plains; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
