Mrs. Rona Lee Martin Jones, 73, passed away on Thursday morning, December 4, 2014 at her home at Magnolia Manor in Americus. Funeral services are planned for 1:30 PM on Tuesday, December 9, from the Martha McDonald Moore Memorial Chapel at Magnolia Manor, with Rev. Joy Wilson and Dr. Dennis Stalvey officiating. Interment will follow at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, December 10, in the committal shelter at Andersonville National Historic Site. The family will receive friends on Monday evening, December 8, between the hours of 7:00 & 9:00 PM at Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St. Born September 16, 1941 in Cincinnati, OH, she was a daughter of the late William Woodrow Martin and Eleanor Ruth Jennings Martin. A veteran of the United States Army, Mrs. Jones was a member of the Catholic faith and was retired from the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany where she served as a Programmer Analyst. Survivors include her husband, Frank B. Jones of Americus; two sons, Michael James Cottle (Kathy) of Newton, KS and Robert Scott Cottle (Miyuki) of Marietta; one step-son, Samuel Kyle Jones of Nacadoches, TX; one step-daughter,Tracy M. Frazer of Americus; two brothers, Richard L. Martin of Amelia, OH and James E. Martin of Beaver Creek, OH; one sister, Judith Ann Cordes of Blanchester, OH; four grandchildren: Sierra Cottle, Brianna Cottle, Kaylee Cottle, and Kazuki Cottle; three step-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, it was Rona's wish that memorial contributions be made to the League of the Good Samaritan, c/o Magnolia Manor, 2001 S. Lee St., Americus, GA 31709.
