Bob Gene Deaver

Mr. Bob Gene Deaver, 85, passed away on Sunday afternoon, December 21, at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. Funeral services are planned for 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 27, in the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St., with interment to follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Rev. Bill Dupree will officiate. The family will receive friends at Hancock Funeral Home from 12:00 until 2:00 PM on Saturday. Born June 17, 1929, in Snomac, Oklahoma, Mr. Deaver was one of seven children born to Earl Anderson Deaver and Ida Beatrice Martin Deaver. He owned and operated B-Bar Dairy, Inc. Mr. Deaver was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lou Brumley Deaver, on April 22, 2010; by a son, Timothy Ray Deaver, on September 6, 1980; and by one sister and four brothers. Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Deaver of Americus and Jayne Laughlin of Americus; three sons, Bruce Deaver (Gail) of Newnan, Alan Deaver (Deborah) of Americus, and Robert Deaver of Americus; one sister, Linda Leitaker (Curt)of Westwood, CA; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
