Mr. Robert (Bob) Davis died early Wednesday morning, November 12. Graveside memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 15, in Oak Grove Cemetery with the Rev. David Kitchens officiating. Born March 15, 1924, in Allentown, Mr. Davis was a son of the late Joseph Felton Davis and Mary Magdalene Kitchens Davis. He was a roofing contractor for fifty years, specializing in both commercial and residential buildings. He was a member of the First Christian Church, the American Legion, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was also a Mason and a Shriner. The family will receive friends at Hancock Funeral Home on Friday, November 14, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, and at the cemetery following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Americus Shrine Club, c/o Mr. Bill Moncrief, 331 Daniel Street, Americus, GA 31709. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Patricia D. Davis of Americus; two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and David Kitchens of Dalton, and Carolyn and Don Wills of Fritch, TX; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert W. “Bubba” Davis and his wife, Bobbie, of Warner Robins; a sister and brother-in-law, Ruby Gatewood and her husband, A. D. “Dud” Gatewood, III, of Americus; and several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Hancock Funeral Home, 427 South Lee Street, Americus, GA is in charge of arrangements.
