Mrs. Dorothy Whiteley Anderson, 88, passed away on Tuesday evening, January 6, at Lillian G. Carter Health & Rehab in Plains. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 9, from the graveside at Lebanon Cemetery in Plains, with Rev. Jim Jewell officiating. Born August 29, 1926 in Ashaway, RI, she was a daughter of the late Charles Edwin & Flora B. Whiteley. Mrs. Anderson was a home maker and a member of Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany where she was in the Friendship Sunday School class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Durelle Anderson. Survivors include 4 children: Thomas D. & Virginia Anderson of Bricktown, NJ, Charles E. Anderson of Tokyo, Japan, Betty A. Reynolds of Albany, and Steve & Lorie Anderson of Leesburg; 7 grandchildren: Thomas Anderson, III, of Bricktown, NJ, Christine Anderson, of Bricktown, NJ, Chris & Sheila Reynolds of St. Louis, MO, Karen & Ling Chen of Graham, WA, Mary & Paul Roberson of Parrott, Elizabeth Anderson of Atlanta, and Mary Clare & Matt Kane of Atlanta; 10 great-grandchildren: Zamemian TenEyck, Anna Roberson, Brandon Roberson, Slade Anderson, Colt Anderson, Casey Chen, Emily Chen, Chase Cooper, Chad Cooper, and Lecil Gohman; 2 sisters: Dora Hirst of Westerly, RI and Ethel Sieg of Palm Harbor, FL; 2 sisters-in-law: Eunice Griggs of Plains and Carol Anderson of Plains; and several nieces & nephews.
