Mr. Arcey Thomas Brown, 87, passed away early Wednesday morning, January 21, at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 24, at the Martha McDonald Moore Memorial Chapel at Magnolia Manor with Rev. Bill Dupree officiating. A private burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery in Albany. Born April 23, 1927 in Rhine, GA, he was a son of the late Tom Brown and Mary Lou Studstill Brown. Mr. Brown was a United States Army veteran, having served during World War II. He was a retired rural mail carrier and a member of First United Methodist Church of Americus. He was preceded in death by his wives, Eileen Hargrove Brown and Irene Lewis Hay Brown. Survivors include his wife, Carole Baab Brown of Americus; children: Arcey Larkin Brown of Aspen, CO, Trena Champion (Stewart) of Leesburg, Jan Malsky (Paul) of Destin, FL, Anne Barrett (Mark) of Leslie, Carla Satterfield (David) of Destin, FL, and Richard Zabadah of Albany; grandchildren: Hayley Champion Tennyson, Josh Champion (Kristen), Swede Scarborough (Elizabeth), Trent Scarborough, Evan Zabadah, Eli Zabadah, Elise Zabadah, Bo Barrett, and John Barrett; great-grandchildren: Millie, Mae and Miles Champion, Hollings and Elle Manderson, Laura Cate Harris, and Truett, Reid and Reagan Scarborough; and one sister, Myrtle Brown Harper of Fitzgerald.
