Mrs. Sara Martin passed away on Wednesday evening, January 28, at Elysian Hospice in Keller, Texas. The family will receive friends at Hancock Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until noon on Saturday, February 7. Funeral services will be conducted that afternoon at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home with interment to follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Dr. Bryan Myers will officiate. Mrs. Martin, a native of Wrightsville, Georgia, was born November 26, 1923, a daughter of the late Edd Tanton and Rachel Scoggins Tanton. She was a member of Central Baptist Church and was an inspector for a number of years at the former Manhattan Shirt Company. She enjoyed sewing and listening to gospel music. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Martin Hattori and her husband Ted of Keller, TX; two grandchildren, Christopher Taylor and his wife, Krystal, of Keller, TX and James Taylor and his wife, Sarah, of Highlands Ranch, CO; and three great grandchildren, Max, Olivia, and Katie Taylor. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Roy Martin, three brothers, Joe Tanton, Bill Tanton, and Melton Tanton, and by two sisters, Nell Tanton Keyton and Rachel Tanton Wynn.
